Job Description
Bluescope is seeking a talented and experienced Backend Developer proficient in Java to join our dynamic team. As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable backend solutions to support our web applications and services. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, efficient, and reliable software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java technologies.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate frontend components with backend services.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
- Perform code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to design principles.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
- Optimize backend performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our backend systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role, with at least X years of experience in Java development.
- Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous messaging systems.
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
